RT-PCR Test
A polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test detects a virus through genetic material. The test will identify the presence of the virus and it can also detect fragments of the virus, even when you are no longer infected.
Antigen Test
This COVID-19 test is similar to a flu test and provides results within 30 minutes. The purpose of an antigen test is to detect the nucleocapsid protein found in the SARS-CoV-2, virus which is the cause of COVID-19.
Antibodies Testing
This test confirms the presence of antibodies against SARS CoV-2 (commonly known as COVID-19), either from a previous exposure (infection) and/or a vaccination. A sample of blood is drawn and sent to our lab to test for both N-protein and S-protein antibodies.
